Nokia 3.1 will go on sale in India for the first time on July 21, 2018. Available in three color variants, the phone will be sold across Paytm Mall, Nokia.in, and other major retailers. The phone was first launched in Moscow in May this year. The company had also launched Nokia 2.1 and Nokia 5.1 at that time.
In India, Nokia 3.1 is launched by HMD Global, the licensee brand for Nokia phones. The company launched the phone in India on Thursday. It will be available at a price of Rs 10,499 for customers and will compete with likes of Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5, Realme 1, etc.
In India, Nokia 3.1 will be available only in 2GB RAM/ 16GB inbuilt storage configuration. Other main features of the phone are 5.2-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) panel with 18:9 display, Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, octa-core MediaTek MT6750N processor, 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera sensor, 8-megapixel fixed focus front camera sensor, Corning’s Gorilla Glass, Android One certification, 2,990mAh battery, three color variants (Blue/ Copper, Black/ Chrome, and White/ Iron). The connectivity features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GLONASS, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The company has provided several sensors onboard the phone, including accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.
On Friday, Nokia also launched Nokia 6X, rebranding it as the Nokia 6.1 Plus, in Hong Kong. According to rumor mills, Hong Kong is the first country outside China where Nokia’s latest mid-range smartphone has been launched. Nokia 6.1 Plus (Nokia X6) features Google’s latest Android One project on top of Oreo (8.0). The blue variant of the smartphone will not be available in Hong Kong.
Other features of Nokia 6.1 Plus include Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage (expandable up to 400GB via a microSD card) a 5.8 inch 19:9 FHD+ IPS LCD display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, an 8MP front shooter for clicking selfies, 16MP primary and 5MP secondary camera sensors, built-in AI capabilities, USB Type C, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, fingerprint scanner, and face recognition sensor.
